Class in Tupelo

My co-worker and I had class in Tupelo today..  More of the company changes that are supposed to help us out, better pricing ,etc....
What this means is taking more time with the customer.. Well, some of our customers have the time and some don't.. One thing about it, you may want to TAKE THE TIME, at least once a year to go over all your car and house insurance coverages.. Think about what you would do, in the case of an emergency.. I know most of you probably do... But you would be surprised at the people that don't know what they have.. We don't even use the words "full Coverage" anymore.. Everybody has a deductible of some sort, right?
And make sure you check the liability limits on your vehicle. .... Say for instance, you accidentally pull out in front of a vehicle.... well, what if that vehicle that you hit is a NEW CAR??  Have you seen the sticker prices on some of these SUV's today???
Some are retailing at $50,000 plus....
What if you totalled a vehicle like that?   Do you have enough liability to cover that?
Our state minimum here is $25,000.  If you have the minimum here in Mississippi, and you hit another vehicle that will cost more than the $25000 limit on your policy.... Guess who is responsible for the rest of the money??   YOU ARE!
Sure.... the other party may have under insured motorist.. but their insurance will come after you after they settle with their client.... AND make sure you have uninsured Motorist coverage
What if someone hits you and doesn't have any insurance?
How much is your vehicle worth? What about your medical expenses???
There are so many in our state that don't carry any insurance , even if it is the law.. they just drive around without it...

I'm sounding like a teacher now..lol
But I just want you to know, that you need to go over your policy at least once a year and make sure you are comfortable with your policy.. Most of the time, the higher limits only cost a few dollars more.. This can save you peace of mind in the future...
OKay..... I'm though preaching now...
I hope all of you have a wonderful evening...
Bunches of hugs!

That is something we've been covering this year. Changing insurance companies and opting for better coverage. You never know do you? Thanks for adding me! You are so kind! Hugs!

Good Evening Stephanie,
"THANK YOU" for the Birthday and Anniversary wishes. I do appreciate it very much and for you thinking of me. We have always just had liability insurance. Maybe since we are getting caught up, we will need to check into getting full coverage. I know, I should be ashamed of myself, but we had to do what we had to do to get by tho. "THANK YOU" for giving us the additional information on the insurance and I will be checking into that as well. Our girls went back to School yesterday. It has been a bit chilly around here as well. It did get up into the 60's today and I had to turn the A/C on for a while this afternoon. I finally just shut the whole unit off. I'll sure be glad when the temperatures decide what it's going to do. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Stephanie,

I think insurance is much different in the US than it is in Canada. We are required to have a million liability here. That is to insure your insurance company can care for someone if they are totally disabled. After you mention this, I think we need more. A million wouldn't care for someone who was totally disabled for the rest of their lives.

We have a million dollars liability on the house as well in case someone gets injured on our property. If we hire a contractor for anything, we insure he has his own insurance.

Insurance here is pretty cut and dried. When we take out a policy, we chose a figure that we are insured for. We have liability, comprehensive and fire and theft on our vehicles, plus a clause for a free rental if our vehicle is damaged so badly it can't be driven or if it has to be repaired.

Our car insurance is "no fault" so it doesn't matter who is to blame, our insurance company does the repairs. So many differences I can't begin to explain all of them.

I'm glad you're going to take the Vitamin D. Within two weeks my energy level is up. I even began cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom today. Will be continuing until it is all done. I'm hoping to lay a new floor, paint all the walls and cupboards and put up new wallpaper border. Because of my spine and neck problems, this will take me a few weeks, I'm sure but I want it done.

Enjoyed visiting with you, as always.

Blessings,
Mary

Stephanie,
Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting Nora Lee's Nook. I'm glad I found you here. Thanks also for the reminder about auto insurance; I just recently looked over mine to make sure we are adequately covered. Good points you made here! Please stop by and visit again.

Excellent, excellent insurance advice! This is coming from the wife of an insurance agent and I hear it all the time. People just don't pay close enough attention to what they are covered for. Glad you brought this to everyone's attention! :o)

MSB ~ I don't think you sound like a teacher... more like a Insurance Rep. though. But your point is VERY valid just the same. I have had Uninsured Motorist Insurance ever since we lived in Southern California where a lot of illegal aliens chose to reside (and drive). ~ jb///

Believe it or not I have the highest coverage available or so I've been told. The worst thing about insurance is that it is so hard to understand all the mumbo jumbo that I just take whatever my ins. rep tells me to! I guess I am a sucker.

You're right, you're right. I really need to do this as I couldn't tell you anything about my insurance. I really have tried to read my policy but it isn't written in my language. Now I'm making excuses. Thank you for the push to do this!

Thank you for sharing this. We just had our "check-up" and made some big changes in our coverages. This is a good reminder.

Very good advice. I know I have 50,000, 25,000, 25,000. I have collision on both cars and uninsured vehicle. Another thing people need to be aware of in the homeowner's insurance is full replacement. The cost of building is going up all the time and you want to be able to replace your house. If you don't have replacement coverage, your personal belongings will be depreciated for age and you'll ge their value at the time not what it costs to buy new ones.

Thanks for visiting today.

Thanks for the heads up. Perhaps after I stop fighting with my health insurance provider I'll look at my auto insurance!
