Don't call us....

I couldn't help myself but to laugh, when I called a client back today, and got her anwering machine.. Her message to her caller was as follows: " Hello, You have reached #######..... if you are calling to try to sell me something....NEVER CALL ME BACK AGAIN...... otherwise( smile in her voice)..please leave a message..."

Now, That's an idea!..lol

She obviously gets lots of sales calls.. I get those occasionally. but I did put myself on the National Do not Call registry. It's really simple and you can add all of your phone lines to it. It's free too..

But I just thought her message was cute...
I was glad that I was just returning her call....lol

It's stopped raining for the moment, and it has turned cooler outside. My husband will be going to Maine & New Hampshire next week. He should be getting home Friday. I hope all of you are having a good week. Not much else going on right now. I am ready to go to some ballgames though.... But I do want the cold to go away..
Bunches of hugs!

This just made me smile. My Brother-in-law is a crotchety old thing these days, and he has a message very similar, but not as sweet. ;o) His tells the telemarketers to tell all their friends not to call, either.

Great message....maybe I will try that. :) We have been on the no call list for several years now and STILL get calls.

I'm SO stealing that message for my machine LOL

I'm tired of the telemarketer calls and we're on the registry too but it doesn't seem to be working.

Good Morning Stephanie,
That is a good idea to have that message on an answering machine. When we had a home phone, I had our number put on the National Do Not Call List as well as our cell phones. Those telemarketing people are getting to where they call cell phones now. We got some more rain overnight and we maybe getting some more in a little while. We may have some severe storms later today and tonight. I will pray for safe travels for your hubby as he travels the highway. My DH will be home sometime today. I will be so glad to see him since he's had such a bad week. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

That message is a hoot!!! I am on the no call list but still get a few but nothing like before I registered. I also love your graphic, as if anyone didn't know I am really a graphaholic! Guess it comes from my scrapbooking days.

The story about the 'retarded' grandparents just made me laugh out loud here all by myself! That is just soooooooo cute and I can see why a youngster would think those things!

Hubby coming up our way eh? NH doesn't have much snow left but we still do. Hopefully we don't have any storms while he is driving though. Safe travels!

Hi Stephanie,

We're getting more rain around here, and there is talk about more flooding! I sure hope we won't get any more!

I have both my regular phone and cell phone registered.

Love the message on the answering machine!

I hope you are having a nice Thursday!

Hugs,

Renie

PS. Loved the retarded granparents piece! Very funny and cute.

I am on the Do Not Call list but I still wish there was a way to block any naggy number 800 or otherwise from your phone if you so choose.

Hope you have a wonderful day hon and your hubs safe driving!

Ba haw haw! That's a good one!

Telemarketers and salesmen get on my nerves sooooooo bad!

Other things to do:

When they call, ask them to hold on, then put the phone down and continue with dinner, talking very loud to your family (pass the potatoes please), ignoring the caller, forcing the caller to eventually hang up.

or

When they call, change the subject and start asking them personal questions, and act like you didn't hear their response (if any) and repeat your question. They will think you are crazy and will hang up on you.

I do the above to the ones who refuse to honor my request not to call back. Irritate them as much as they irritate you.

Hi Stephanie,

Love the phone message. My husband tells them he's not interested and if they continue to talk, he just puts the phone down and walks away. He heard this trick from Andy Rooney on 60 Minutes.

We're on the No Call list too. It's a really good idea.

Weather wise, it was 22 this morning. What a rude awakening for us after the lovely temps of Nevada.

Many hugs to you.

Yes, that's the problem with landlines, you get so many nuisance calls. Good thing cellphones are in vogue in our country today. I never receive unnecessary calls since my cell number is listed only among my calling friends. Nice to know that it stopped raining in your place right now and you got sunny weather conditions. Thanks for the post. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Thanks for stopping in to visit me!
What a unique answering machine message! I'm on the do not call list, but there are quite a few who work their way around it! Thank goodness for caller ID!

I love it! I even get silly telemarketing calls on my cell phone!

Stephanie,

LOL I would put them on my answering machine but doubt it would do any good. I have told one particular company time and time again not to call. I've been rude. I've hung up on them and still they call. We don't have a registry here in Canada but they're talking about establishing one.

We had a couple of nice sunny days but today it is raining and chilly. I'm waiting patiently for Spring to chase Old Man Winter away.

Enjoy your weekend.
Blessings,
Mary

I enjoyed reading your post! The comics were pretty good! This is my first time visiting your site, and I must say I will be back!

I, too, have been on the Do Not Call List ever since it began, and I don't get any solicitation calls at all. Maybe it works differently here in SC, who knows?

It's raining here today, too! But then I lova a rainy day...it just seems to cleanse everything!

Thanks for letting me drop in! I shall return!
