Getting ready for CAMP!

My son is going to Georgia next week to Youth camp with our church youth group.. He's excited. I've been getting his things together.. I just got home from shopping. I got him some more shorts and sunscreen, a wallet and a new belt.. Also some gum and sour gummy woms for the road..lol
We got the suitcase out of the attic, so I'm going to clean it up for the trip and he will be ready to roll. He's got just enough cash and a McDonald's Card, because they stop at McDonalds to and from traveling.. Their meals at camp are all included. They just need money for snacks and any extra stuff they might want..

He enjoyed it so much last year... They had a contemporary gospel group every night..

He is leaving Monday morning and will leave to come home at noon, next Friday..

My husband is now on his way to Arizona, so it's just us girls this week... We will probably do a lot of shopping..lol
Kristen already has a sleepover at her friends house on Wednesday night..She will be going to camp at the end of the month, but not the same camp..
We will keep busy. I still have to work, but I am off this Wedneday..
I hope all of you are having a good Weekend!.... Stop over at my cooking blog and see my recipe for strawberry shortcake.. ...

It's been 10 years since I went to church camp with Jessica as a house mother and counselor. No AC, and mercy was it hot!

We just finished vacation bible school, and mercy was it hot!

Do you see a pattern developing here? LOL! ;o)

Hope y'all enjoy your week, wherever y'all spend it.

Hugs,

Diane

I know your son will have a great time at camp. My kids used to go to church camp every summer and they loved it and always looked forward to it each summer.

Our kids here aren't even out of school yet for another week so they won't be going to camp for a while plus we have VBS the week after school gets out and they want to be here for that. I'm in charge of the costumes for the skits so have been getting those ready. I used to work at a summer camp years ago when I was a teen. It was so much fun!

Whoo-hoo! I hope that he has a good time, Steph...don't forget to pack him a camera, even if it's only a kodac instant - they take decent pics.

Kristen is also going to camp somewhere in Georgia, I talked to her Mom a few days ago, but her camp won't be until after July 4th.

Take care and have a great week..:)

I recall going to camp when I was a camp fire girl and my boys went to boy scout camp.
I know I enjoy it and I'm 99.9% my boys did to.

I'll be sure and check out your strawberry cake recipe also.
