A Face In The Crowd

As I looked around the congregation at church this morning, I saw a little smiling face. It was the face of one of my son's classmates. He has known her all of his life. They went through daycare , pre-school and now school.... Both are 12 years old. We used to kid them, and say they would probably be dating each other when they got old enough to date..

We found out this past week that Shelby has cancer...She started this past week, going to St.Jude in Memphis.
As I looked at her this morning, tears came to my eyes.. How could this be happening? How could it???
It's so unfair!.. Why anyone, especially a child?

After the service, when I got close to her, I hugged her neck.. She smiled her sweet smile.. "Hello, Ms. Stephanie", she said.. Of course there was a crowd of affection surrounding her.... She won't be alone, as she goes through this.... Some of her friends and family, have even vowed to shave their heads, when she does..

This is the third child in our small county, within the past two years to have cancer. There is another little boy, that is in my daughter's class , that has it..
Then earlier this year, We lost Caleb.( a friend's son).....

I don't know, but I am going to inquire if this is an unusual amount of children in one small area or not...
It just really bothers me...

I'm sure that the CDC will keep up with this. I'm still going to ask them...
Thanks for reading this
Anyway, I hope you have a good week.

Bless her sweet lil' heart. I will keep her, and her family in my prayers. Seeing kids who are sick (especially with cancer) is so hard. I often question why it has to happen to the kids, but I know that God watches over them, and will keep them in his hands *Hugs*

How sad!! It just breaks my heart to see little ones have to deal with things like that. But having so many loving friends around her will really make a difference!!
Just makes you want to go hug your own kids a little bit tighter, doesn't it?
(I would definitely inquire about it. That seems like quite a lot of children in a small area to get cancer!!)
