Back to normal?

This was a short work and school why did it seem so long??

I was ready for the holidays to be over, but this week hit me like a freight train!

Back to the homework, after I get home from work. Back to the daily problem solving.... I have worked for a major insurance company now for 18 years......eek
I usually enjoy my job... I really do have it good.. It's just sometimes, it gets so just want to go in your office, close the door and have a few moments of quiet... I've been trying to follow the New Year's Resolutions that I put out there for myself...Decipline is not my best attribute, but I'm trying...

My son got his heart broken for the first time this week. Believe me, It's a big deal for him.. I sat down with him, and we talked about it. It really hurts when someone hurts your childs feelings.. We've had some things going on in our community... Last weekend, one of the neighbor teens committed suicide. He was only 16...It was over a fight with his girlfriend, so you know my heart dropped when my son was telling me about his little breakup.. I want my son to know I'm here. I am trying to explain to him that through his life, if he loves, he will get hurt. That's just part of growing up.. and on top of that, he has shaved his head to support a friend of his that has cancer . His friend is going to St Jude now for her treatments..She is 12 too..
I think that is a lot for a little boy to have to think about. I want to help him through all of this thought process..... You know it's stressful on him, because it's stressful on me, and I'm a grownup.

I'm glad it's the weekend now. He has gone to spend the night with another friend, and my daughter now has a friend spending the night. They are at the skating rink, and should be home in a few minutes.
They have some movies to watch, so I guess I'll get the sodas and popcorn ready..

Have a Great Weekend, and catch up on the rest you missed over the holidays, if you can..

You're a great Mom, no doubt about it! Something I can never imagine being able to do.

Another thing I love about you as a person and a friend!

sounds like he is going to do just fine, his heart is in the right place. Hard to watch them grow up isnt it?

being a mom is a difficult task. even harder when you work full time.

good luck steph. you are doing a great job.

The hardest part about being a parent is helping your child navigate through all the hard times, the times that they just don't understand the "why" of it all. Having a 14-y-o has definitely taught me about so many of the pressures on kids these days. All we can do is let them know how much we love them and that we're there for them. Sounds like you are a GREAT mom!

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry to hear about your son's heart getting broken, and about the loss of the neighbor. That's so pitiful, and heartbreaking to hear. I'm glad you were there to help you son through all of this-- best wishes for the future *hugs*
