"Grease" to stage Aug. 16 -l9

Ripley Arts Council and Ripley Main Street Association will celebrate the opening of the historic Dixie Theater on Thursday night Aug. l6 with the production of the smash Broadway hit musical Grease. The musical play will run through Sunday Aug. 20 at a 2 p.m. matinee with the performances each night at 7.

The energetic play is homage to the age of Rock & Roll in the fabulous '50s. Audiences will also remember the popular movie with hit tunes like "Beauty School Dropout," "We Go Together," Summer Nights," and "Greased Lighting." In the story good girl Sandy falls in love over the summer with a greaser named Danny. But when they both are in the same high school they discover they will have to rekindle their romance.
According to Director "There are great seats available for all performances and this is a musical that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The seats for purchase suitable for donations or memorials are also still available. For this production adult seats are $7 and children l2 and under are $5."
