Slow Cooker Thursday is hosted by Sandra at Family Corner
CROCK POT APPLE BUTTER
2- 3 lb (50 oz) jars unsweetened apple sauce
3 lbs apples
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups apple juice
1 tsp cloves

Directions:
Peel and cut apples into small chips. Place all ingredients in the crock pot and stir. Cover and cook on low (eight to ten hours). Remove cover, stir and taste. Add more spices or sugar to taste. Continue cooking for a couple more hours, uncovered, until some of the liquid has gone and butter has cooked down a bit. I've always wanted to try this recipe. I have a stovetop version but it is sooooo much stirring. I also remember when our church made apple butter in huge cast iron kettles over a wood fire. That had to be stirred constantly for whole days.
