Tuesday

My brother and My Aunt and my cousin, all three lost their homes. They are physically okay, but exhausted. They have generators going and everyone in the neighborhoods are helping each other out. My brother evacuated to Corpus Christi and My Aunt and her son, who both had homes on the bay, are at her other son's house farther North in Texas. Thanks for your prayers and continue to pray for these people.. They said it may be a month before they get the power going in some areas.. and Galveston is just...gone.....

The gas prices here went back down from $4.14 gal the other day to $3.65 a few minutes ago.

Don't know how long that will last, do we? To top it off, yesterday while I was filling my car up with gas, I got stung by a yellow-jacket. I knocked it off, but it's stinger was still stuck in my wrist, so I got it out with my nails.. I got some medicine . Now, it's just black and blue and swollen.. It's not hurting as much as it was last night..

I hope you are having a good week. The weather is nice.. Feels like a Fall day today..

I'm so sorry for your relatives' losses...and that you got stung.

My sister came in from Corpus Christi for just a quick 2-night trip to see my dad and me. She was relieved that Ike didn't hit them but also sad for the devastation where it did.

Your family will be in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of property by those in your family. Hurricanes are brutal things, and it's unfortunate that despite the best of planning, there are just some things that are beyond control.

Good thoughts to you and to them.

I am glad that your family members are safe!

I am sorry, though, for the hardship they've endured and will continue to endure until they rebuild.

Yellow Jackets have, I'm sure, an important role to fill somewhere in the ecosystem. Darned if I can figure out what it is, though.

Hang in there! (hug)

Sorry to hear about your family's loss due to the storm. We'll continue to pray for them.

Ouch! Yellow Jackets are beastly little snots. Sorry to hear you were stung. I'm terrified of bees. I haven't been stung in a number of years, but remember the discomfort well.

Hugs,
Diane

I am sorry to hear of your family's losses from Ike. Did I email you the Power Point show of After Ike? The pictures make it reality to us who weren't there. Such devastation! We all need to continue our prayers.

Oh, sorry you got stung, too! I remember stepping on a nest of them one time as a kid....I had sandals on! It was whatever kind of bees live in holes in the gorund...would that be yellow jackets or hornets? All I know is that I will never forget the pain that day!

Hope your wrist is back to normal now. We enver know when we go outside what is going to attack us! Every year I have mus wasps that build their cones on my front porch! I spray them at night and then knock them down and bag them and carry them off to the dumpsters!
