Favorite Ingredients Friday

Hamburger Steak with Gravy

2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 teaspoon Watkins garlic salt
1 tsp. Watkins black pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
2 eggs
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
Flour or meal
2 cans cream of mushroom soup

chopped mushrooms(optional)

Preheat oven 350°. Mix beef, pepper, celery, green pepper, onion, garlic salt, eggs, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into patties; roll in flour or meal. Place hamburger steaks in 9x13x2-inch baking dish and pour mushroom soup over the steaks.Sprinkle the chopped mushrooms over the top. Bake about 1 hour, until thoroughly cooked. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Another good one! I have one similar to this using 2# stew beef and a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of French onion soup and 1/2 can of water. Bake uncovered for 2 1/2 - 3 hours at 350. This is really good served over mashed potatoes and biscuits.

I'm going to try your recipe using ground beef, though. I'm always looking for something and different.
